Our Vision
A peaceful and hopeful community where young people are emotionally strong, proud of their identity, and able to create positive futures for themselves and others.
Our Mission
To empower youth and community members through language preservation, sports and talent development, and guidance and counselling services that promote mental well-being, unity, and self-reliance.
Where We Work
Kakuma Refugee Camp and surrounding host communities in Turkana West Sub-County, Kenya — reaching the most vulnerable and underserved groups.
Our Three Program Areas
Holistic, community-driven programs designed to heal, connect, and empower refugee youth in Kakuma.
Languages & Cultural Preservation
Teaching native languages, storytelling by elders, poetry, cultural dialogue sessions, and youth-led translation support to preserve identity and belonging.
Sports & Talent Development
Community sports tournaments, talent identification, mentorship, life skills training, and inclusive spaces for girls and youth with disabilities.
Guidance & Counselling
One-on-one counselling, group support, mental health awareness sessions, life skills training on coping and decision-making, and professional referrals.
A Message from Our Founder
"Every young person in Kakuma carries within them an unbreakable spirit. RAHA exists to fan that flame into a future full of hope."
When I looked around Kakuma and saw young people — full of potential — struggling with trauma, loss of identity, and uncertainty, I knew something had to be done. Not by outsiders, but by us, from within our own community.
RAHA was born from that conviction. We believe that healing starts with belonging — with knowing your language, your story, your worth. Through sports, culture, and counselling, we create spaces where young people can breathe, grow, and lead.
Every program we run, every life we touch, is proof that when communities invest in their youth, the future changes. I invite you to be part of this journey — as a supporter, partner, or friend of RAHA.
